This raw material ( trade name: SPAN PACK ) is expanded with steam to a very low densities. (under 4 kilograms per cubic meter or 0,25 pounds per cubic foot)

It is sold in a non-expanded pellet form making it easy and economical to transport to expanding facilities.

This product is supplied as free flowing, polystyrene pellets containing pentane gas as an expanding agent.

Particles contain a blowing agent that makes to expand the plastic when heated with steam.

SPAN-PACK  loose fill is a packaging system able to protect all kind of products.

Polystyrene loose-fill is the least expensive packaging material. Paper or biodegradable loose-fill products are 20% to 50% more expensive to use than "plastic" peanuts.
